85 Years Old....FANTASTIC SHOOTING
My new friend 85 year old Rick, from MO, proved you are never too old to have fun, try something new, and never too old to drop a Jim River prairie dog DRT at 628 yards with a 223! He had two laying side by side there and more closer in.
Rick encountered two challenging days of shooting due to moist ground conditions. While I brag that I kept them shooting while almost all other outfits were sloshed out, the hunters were not getting an ideal plume of dust with each shot (that makes it easier). Rick used old-school character and never wavered. That's what I like about guys like Rick-let the others snivel and worry about adapting! Rick bared down!
Learning new tricks keeps you young. He and his pal Jeff drove up from Sweet St. Lou. Challenging wind and wet ground conditions were the order of the day but that didn't deter Rick. How many of us are hoping we can still be enjoying the outdoors when we are 85? Fantastic job! Those young guys have nothing on you Rick.
I posted this pic on my facebook page and it has blown viral! It is over 1.5 million views right now! There's a lot of young shooters who don't have what it takes to get this kind of success.
It's not rocket surgery…it just takes committed desire and intense interest-you have to be coachable. Rick is. All of us are envious of you, Rick. You epitomize old-school heart and soul. We'd all be thankful to have what you've got! Thanks for being a great sportsman. I hope you return for more fun.
